Classes
Free Chapel Academy puts Jesus first in all we do. Children start their morning out with Prayer, Praise, and Play. This establishes the presence of Jesus in the classroom and creates a peaceful and joyful start to the school day.
STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math): is an essential part of our curriculum and is included every day in their lessons. Their daily lessons also include Bible, Music, Creative Expression, Letters, Phonics, Reading, and Writing.
Our classrooms are multi-age, pairing the older of one age with the younger of the next age. Children of multi-age classrooms have been shown to have higher self-esteem, more positive self-concepts, less antisocial behavior, and better attitudes toward school than their peers in single-age classes.
All of our classrooms focus on scaffolding, that is, to understand one concept before moving on to another, giving a strong solid foundation to build on. For example, teaching an infant to follow a ball rolling from left to right with their eyes is one of the essential foundations of a successful emergent reader. This teaching method significantly reduces learning gaps (the difference between what they have been taught and what they are expected to know) that children may experience in elementary education and further.
